Use to the oak leaf in this piece carries the meaning of longevity and resistance, like topázio's 150 years. may many more come, ensuring the continuity of the tradition of good workmanship. to create the oak leaves, a mold was made where they were shaped one by one and after the sheet was cut, they were chiseled. i tried to use as many traditional techniques as possible that topázio offered me, but in contrast with the simple lines of the body of the vase, where repoussé was used. topázio is a wealth of knowledge, at every stall there is a master. |

To create the oak leaves, a mold was made where they were shaped one by one and after the sheet was cut, they were chiseled. Use to captivated by the traditional techniques of stucco moulding, iva viana develops and executes, at her atelier, objects that arise both from the fascination with the heritage left by the portuguese masters in stuccowork and the desire of reinterpreting it. among her works, one finds mainly ornamental plasters, but also custom sculpture projects made to order, and personal creative works. such are the áreas where, traditionally, male artists prevail, and to which she instils a unique feminine sensitivity, exploring a conceptual aesthetic expression, where fragments of the past live together, side by side, with aspects of a contemporary imaginary. |
